Here are a few tent types to choose from:
Pyramid Tents
The simplest form are pyramid tents where it can be formed by one massive canvas supported by two poles and fastened by stakes. The plain assembly of pyramid tents make them regular camping forms and setting it up is quite easy even for amateur campers. However, tents like these are prone to invasion by insects and parasites. Which is why modern pyramid tents nowadays are made with zippered entryways which also have synthetic fabric canvass and carbon fiber poles and rods.
Dome Tents
Dome Tents are one of the most common and favorite tents. The ability to let rain water slide more effectivle and more faster is not its only advantage but it’s also designed to provide more space in its entrance and inside for its occupants compared to triangular tents. Dome tents typically come with two poles. Other dome tents are modified to provide more durability and resilience against heavy rains and strong winds. The addition of rods and poles to its overall assembly makes it sturdier to the elements.
Tunnel Tents
Tunnel tents have an uneven space and are tapered lower at the back. Two rods come with tunnel tents as well but one is much longer than the other one and there are also varieties of single poles. The lighter weight of tunnel tents also give them certain advantages over other types of tents. Because of its compact design, tunnel tents are the ideal type of tents for a 1 man tent.
When you acquire a tent, keeping it dry is essential to prevent moisture damage such as mold and mildew which not only make your tents discolored, it will also make them stinky and a potential health hazard. In storing tents, it is also better to dry them first. You can dry your tent by hanging it in a long clothesline and allow it to dry by air. You can also sun-dry it but it’s important to know that ultraviolet rays from the sun can potentially damage the tent fabric. It is recommended not to expose it for prolonged periods under the sun otherwise wear and tear from heat would gradually deteriorate the fabric.
